Ambassadors
Lindi Archer
I am a retired nurse who started baking for Community Cakes after retirement. I used to bake for my staff when working and before that for my boys and all their friends. Community Cakes meets that need in me. I find cooking and baking is my “Love Language". Baking for those special people who may not get a birthday cake without Community Cakes is a joy. My cakes are delicious but not fancy, like many of the bakers, but all cakes are appreciated.

I started volunteering as a baker with Community Cakes in 2021 and then later became an ambassador. I love being involved with this organization and meeting all the new bakers in the community and sharing recipes. Outside of Community Cakes, I enjoy gardening, hiking, skiing, and being outside.

I have always loved to bake! I started baking in high school here in Boise. A friend and I loved making a cake on Sunday afternoons then decorate it and take it to a youth group leader or a friend, anyone who would take it! My grandma’s recipe for rolls was my next focus. In college a friend had a secret family recipe for cinnamon rolls that were divine, so I started trying to figure out how to make a great cinnamon roll (since she never shared that recipe!). I lived in Hailey for 17 years with my husband raising our 4 kids and making muffins for breakfast most weekends. The kids are all grown now and my husband and I moved back to Boise in 2020. I knew I wanted to find volunteer opportunities here, and Community Cakes is the perfect fit! I love doing home visits and helping other home bakers do something they love while making people’s birthdays special.

I’m a self-taught, trial-by-error baker who finds joy in sharing homemade treats with friends, family, and the community. My love for baking and sweets started when I was young and I learned the closer you are to the kitchen, the better your chances are of snagging a beater covered in batter!
I joined Community Cakes in 2018 as the perfect excuse to bake at least once a month, and in 2023, I became an ambassador. Helping the organization grow and getting to play a part in its mission has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
As an Idaho native, I cherish everything this beautiful state has to offer—from the seasons to the scenery. My boyfriend and I love spending time outdoors skiing, paddle boarding, hiking, and biking in the place we’re lucky to call home.

From the vibrant streets of Las Vegas to the welcoming landscapes of Idaho (since 2020), my journey has been filled with love and connection. My husband and I tied the knot in October 2024 after nearly six years together. Family, friends, and our Golden Retrievers, Nash and Driggs, are central to my life. I'm a passionate traveler, always seeking new adventures. As an ambassador for Community Cakes, I'm thrilled to support their mission, finding a meaningful way to contribute even with a busy work life that limits my time for baking.
Linda Murphy
Hi, my name is Linda Murphy. Wanting to combine a volunteer opportunity with learning a new skill, I joined Community Cakes in 2019. With very little baking experience I grabbed some baking books, videos, and attended a cake decorating class. Fortunately it was pretty easy to get started. Now I am passionate about making fun cakes and then decorating the cake box to create a truly special gift for someone who might not get anything else on their special day. We’d love to have you join us!

As an ambassador for the Community Cakes Organization, I share my love of baking by mentoring up-and-coming bakers and exchanging cake-baking and decorating tips. I also love being involved with a non-profit organization that aims to ensure veterans and other senior citizens receive a homemade birthday cake. Above all, Community Cakes is a great way to give back to the community by spreading kindness in the sweetest way possible.
As a former aerospace IT professional in Washington State, I returned to my Idaho roots to be closer to family. Today, I thrive as a teacher and aspiring writer. When I'm not studying or teaching, my husband, Eric, and I enjoy road trips, outdoor recreation, movies, and spending time with family, friends, and our fur-kids.
Nicole Wyke
My name is Nicole and I hope to one day welcome you to the Community Cakes family! I am a boy mom of 3 and an overall lover of people. When I was introduced to this organization, I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it. Not because of any baking or decorating skill, but because it was something that the whole family could participate in! It is important to me to show my kids how to be involved in the community and teach them to give back. They love helping out in the kitchen, but their favorite part is the delivery. Knowing they are bringing a smile to someone in our community who might not otherwise be recognized on their special day feels great.
